In the book of Mark, we are told of a beautiful story of Yeshua (Jesus) and some little children.
“And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’ And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” (Mark 10:13-16)
The Lord truly loves little children. He has a special place in His heart for them.
He knows that a child’s mind is not hindered by peer pressure. They have great imaginations and believe almost all that you tell them.
They are pure. Young children do not know of all the sins and wickedness that this world has to offer. They see the good in everybody.
Children are full of faith and goodness.
In Matthew 18:3, Yeshua (Jesus) says, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Having faith like a child is a must in our walk with the Lord.
As we get older, peer pressure sets in. We no longer look at the world the same way we did when we were children. The evils and sins of this world overtakes the good. Our thoughts and actions are no longer pure. The faith we once had as young children is completely gone.
But as believers in the Lord, we must try to turn our ways back to when we were children.
I don’t mean that we should act childish and immature. But that our thoughts and the way we believe should be like the way children do. They should be pure and accepting of the ways of God.
So I challenge you today to let go of peer pressure and the things of this world. I would encourage you to look of God the way you did as a child. See His ways and commands as new and good. Let go of what is holding you back and have faith like a child.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
