You are raising children for the kingdom of God. You are raising children for the kingdom of God.

The Lord did not just bless you with your children to raise to a certain age just so they can leave and live their own lives. He blessed you with them to raise as disciples for His work.

Mothering in such a difficult job but it is so needed.🤍 And it’s time that we start getting it in order for the Lord.

It’s not time to grow lazy in our mothering.🥱 We don’t need to be putting off the responsibility that the Lord has given us. It’s time to stand strong for our kids.

Below are five ways that you can begin to get your mothering in order for the Lord and His kingdom. I pray that they encourage you and push you to be the mother God desires you to be.

✨ Realize that our strength in motherhood comes from the Lord.

We can not do motherhood alone. We need God and His Spirit guiding us each and everyday.

✨ As the mom, you set the guidelines.

You get to set the rules in your home along with your husband. As the parents you are able to set the guidelines on what your family gets to watch, have in your home, do as a family, and so much more.

✨ Live by example.

Do you know that your kids are going to follow what you do? So let them see you do what you are wanting them to do.

✨ Mothering and fathering are different.

In the Bible God separates the roles of mothers and fathers. We each have different ways of teaching and thinking. But our family needs both of us.

✨ Teach your kids to go to the Lord.

Let them hear you pray out loud and see you in His Word. But also read the Bible to them and show them how to ask for help and wisdom from the Lord.

🌟 There is so much more to do to prepare your family and home for God’s kingdom. If you want to really start on this journey of readying your home for the Lord go grab my guide “The Pruning.” It will walk you through so many ways to do so! The link is in my bio!🔗🌟

there are just so many opportunities during the da there are just so many opportunities during the day to teach our kids about right from wrong.🚫 good and evil is prevalent wherever we are. and no child is too young to be taught this.

I have very young children right now, all under 5. so the way I go about this will of course look different in three or seven years from now.

but just because they are young it doesn’t mean they should be taught good from evil. they need to know what makes God happy, even at a few years of age.

so here are a few ways I teach my kids between right and wrong.👇🏻

- when we read the Bible or even other books I will pull out parts that show good from evil. we discuss together who sinned, what’s evil, and how God wants us to act.

- if we end up watching something or an ad comes up that has something bad in it we talk about it. I will say “yeah that’s wrong/evil. God doesn’t want us to do/see that thing. (the opposite) makes God happy!”

- any books or shows that they have been exposed to or were brought into our home that had something evil in them I will tell them the reason we are getting rid of it or can’t watch it anymore.

- we memorize Bible verses that teach us what is good and right! (Phil. 4:8, 2 Cor. 10:5, Col. 3:2)

- if one of my kids come to me with a question about something bad they saw or encountered I will answer it honestly. whether it’s another kid who is being mean, a magic trick they saw, or a word they heard I will not sugar coat it. I will make it age appropriate but will call out the bad so they can see.

- we will play out scenarios. what do you do if a friend snatches a toy? how do we act when someone is being mean? how do you speak to authority? what is wrong about a situation versus what is good?

⚔️ kids should not be exposed to all forms of evil to learn. but they still need to know. and it is our responsibility as their parents to equip them well!

a little about me…

Hi! I’m Hannah. I am a wife and mama to two little boys. I love to bake new recipes, work on my skill of sourdough, and make coffee shop style coffees at home. I don’t have too much time in the day though. That’s taken up by two busy boys, but I’m really not complaining. Being a mama is the best!
