“What’s your favorite Bible verse?”
Most people, when asked this question, can quickly answer it and state their favorite verse from memory.
But if you were like me, it may take some time before you discover what your favorite Bible verse is.
Choosing a favorite verse doesn’t have to be difficult. The Bible is filled with many great verses and passages. There is so much wisdom to be gained from God’s Word.
So if you are looking for way to choose your favorite Bible verse, here are three steps you can follow to get you started:
1. Pray about it.
This is the first thing you should do when making any kind of decision. Pray and ask God what He would want you to make your go-to verse in your life.
Asking God for help in this area is a great thing to do.
He may show you a verse you wouldn’t have considered. Or He may give you peace about a verse you have had in your heart for years. Just pray and see what happens.
2. Be in the Word.
In order to choose a favorite Bible verse, you actually have to be in the Word.
God’s Word is filled with many great verses, but if you are not in the Scriptures, you will miss out on that wisdom.
As you read the Bible see what stands out to you. What verses speak to you? What words inspire you?
3. You don’t have to choose.
Yes, that’s right. You don’t have to choose a favorite Bible verse.
Just because your friends may have their go-to verses doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to just one.
You can have two or a dozen favorite verses. Or don’t have to have none at all.
Having a favorite verse is not mandatory to being a daughter of God.
There is no rule that you have to have a favorite Bible verse. And you don’t have to have one picked out right now. Or your favorite verse may change many times throughout your life. And that’s okay!
Reading God’s Word and letting it inspire and lead you is what truly matters. Not having a certain verse that is labeled as your favorite.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
