It is sometimes easy to have the mindset of letting God take the wheel of your life. Sometimes it can be easy to let God take the pen and write out your story.
Letting God have control of your life can sometimes be very easy for us to accept. But other times it can be very difficult.
Times when we are uncertain about life or when things are falling apart around us it can be so hard to let God take complete control of our lives.
We want to hold on to the familiar, allowing only what we want in. Although we pray for God to take control and say that we trust His guidance, we still can have trouble letting go and letting God have control.
In the Scriptures, King Saul had this problem of not letting God have complete control of his life. Yes, he knew who the Lord was and of His greatness. But he didn’t fully trust Him. On many occasions, Saul went along with his own agenda, fulfilling his own needs, and taking control of his life himself.
Like Saul, many of us make our own agenda, fulfill our own needs, and take control of our own life without even asking God what His will for us may be.
A great example of letting God have control of your life can be found in the character of Esther. She was the queen of Persia and was also a Jew. When she found out about an evil plot to kill her people, Esther went to the Lord in prayer. She took her time to pray and listen to the Lord. And in doing so, her prayers were answered and her people were saved.
Esther allowed God to take control of her life. She was not quick to come up with an answer or do things her own way.
Instead, she patiently waited on the Lord to guide her.
Letting God have control of your life is so important in your walk of faith. It shows that you truly trust Him with every aspect of your life and want Him to guide your every move. Although it may not be easy to allow God to take complete control of your life sometimes, it is so very worth it.
