We all have experienced fear. And how the world is right now, fear can be an emotion that most of us are feeling daily.
As we live in this dark, sinful world we have witnessed and will continue to witness many things that have made us fear. And it’s very easy to become anxious when there is so much to be anxious about.
But the Lord has commanded us not to fear!
“Do not fear” is mentioned many times throughout the Scriptures. And it is something that we should take notice of, especially during these days.
There are so many places in God’s Word that tells us of this important command:
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 43:1
“But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
Isaiah 35:4
“Tell everyone who is discouraged, Be strong and don’t be afraid! God is coming to your rescue…”
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Isaiah 41:13-14
“’For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid, for I myself will help you,’ declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.”
Revelation 1:17
“Then he placed his right hand on me and said: ‘Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.’”
Mark 5:36
“Jesus told him, ‘Don’t be afraid; just believe.’”
God commands us to not be afraid! And this command is the same even when you are in a fearful situation.
You have the ability to turn your fear into trust. The only thing you should fear is the Lord and His power. Anything else that happens to you or within this world is not compared to God and His amazing ability.
The Lord would not command you to do something that was out of your ability to do.
So during this time of confusion, chaos, and fear, remember that the Lord is in control. That He commands us not to fear. And that you can place your complete trust in Him.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
