Life can be so hard. There are so many difficulties that can come up each day. And I know how hard it can be to stay joyful during times like these.
But when I’m going through hard parts of my life I always like to remember the story of Job. He lost all and went through an extremely difficult part of his life. But he still chose to be joyful and praise God.
And that is the same attitude we each need to have when we go through hard parts in our lives.
James 1:2-4 tells us “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
When we have hard times in our lives, they are times when we can grow closer to the Lord.
Even through all the pain, confusion, and difficulties, God is still so good. He is the same God who loved Job and blessed him for his joyful spirit through the difficult times. And He will bless you too when you chose to rejoice in the hard parts of life.
“More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5)
So what are some ways that you can rejoice in the hard parts of life? Here are a few ways:
- Listen to worship music and truly worship God.
- Read your Bible and spend time with the Lord.
- Don’t complain about your circumstances but thank God for what you have.
- Thank the Lord for five things as soon as you wake up in the morning.
- Write down some ways that God is good to you.
- Take a prayer walk.
- Go outside and thank God for His creation.
There is so much to praise God for even during hard parts of life.
God is still good through whatever we go through. He is the same great and powerful God He has always been. And He will help you through whatever hard times you may be going through.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
