From the moment you find out you’re pregnant your life completely changes. Almost every decision you make will effect your child in some way. Your life will change. Everything from the time you wake up to your daily schedules to how you eat your meals will look different. Especially in the baby and toddler season of motherhood, which is what I’m currently in, our time is rarely our own. There are unexpected moments that come up, poorly timed accidents, and plans that have to be rearranged because things happen in motherhood. And it can be so easy to lose your…

So right now in my season of life I am constantly doing something. Whether that is changing diapers, cleaning messes, or feeding littles mouths, the responsibilities I have don’t ever stop. Even on my sabbaths. When I entered this busy season of motherhood with babies and now toddlers my sabbaths began to feel unmanageable and just not restful. I was so stressed that I wasn’t resting “like God intended” and that my sabbaths were not pleasing to Him. But that’s just so not true. Matthew 11:28-30 tells us, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give…

Mornings can either be good or bad. And depending on what season of life you’re in, what time you begin your day may differ. Right now in the current season I am in with two little boys it is very hard to set a routine. With different sleep schedules, unexpected moments, and the way toddlers view time a strict morning routine has not been possible. Right now in this season of having two under three my quiet time looks far from quiet. Reading God’s Word doesn’t look like it did when I didn’t have kids or even when I was single. But I know how important reading the Bible is to me in this season of being a toddler mom. Without God’s Word I am not going to be able to care for my kids well, serve my family, and continue in righteousness. That’s why all moms need to be reading the Bible. So here are some tips that worked for me to still get…

Wisdom comes up over and over again in God’s Word. If you need to know how to get wisdom just open up Proverbs. That one book alone is packed with answers. We all need wisdom from the Lord, no matter what season of life you are in. But there is something about the mundane days of motherhood that requires wisdom. As mothers we do the same tasks each day, tend to cries, clean up messes, mop spills off the floor, feed little mouths what feels like non-stop, clean up more messes, and stay up late with little ones who can’t…

It’s the beginning of a new year and so many of us are setting goals and resolutions. We begin pouring so much of our time into healthy habits, exercising, money goals, and self-help improvement. Which all of those are great. Don’t get me wrong! But if you are reading this and you’re a mother I want to encourage you to set some goals that will help you in your motherhood journey this year. Motherhood is a job that is so incredibly important to God. He has given us, as mothers, a huge responsibility to shepherd our childrens’ hearts and continually…

You’re postpartum and in the thick of learning how to be a mom. You may be knee high in dirty diapers, laundry, to-do, you name it. There is a baby that always needs your attention. Or if this isn’t your first child, maybe a toddler or two also constantly at your feet. Being a mother is so beautiful, so fulfilling, and so God-honoring. And those early years are some of the most precious. You are shaping your little one’s childhood and teaching them to live faithfully in this world. The early stages of motherhood are beautiful but are also hard.…
