As daughter’s of the Lord, we should highly treasure our purity. It is one of the most important things we can possess.
Whether you’re young or old, your purity should matter to you.
Purity will look different in every season of life—single, married, or in a relationship. But in each of these seasons, you should work hard at guarding your purity physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Psalm 119:9 ask us, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your [God’s] word.”
Guarding your purity should be important to you because it is important to God.
But I want to say, if you have compromised your standards in the past or if you didn’t have any standards at all, it is not too late to come to the Lord. He is ready to forgive you and help make your life new. Your purity is still important from here on out if you are willing to strive towards the Lord and make your heart pure before Him.
Matthew 5:8 tells us, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
A lot of people talk about staying pure physically. But it is also so important to stay pure mentally and emotionally.
Your thoughts are powerful. And you should strive to keep your mind from impure thoughts, daydreams, and romantic fantasies.
Although you may be staying pure physically, the enemy will try to attack your thoughts and feelings.
This is why it is so important to take your thoughts captive every second of your day.
Guarding your purity has to do with so much more then just the physically stuff. It has to do with so much more then just guarding your body.
Purity is a way of life. It is a desire to please the Lord with everything you think or do.
As Christian women, our prayer should be what the Psalmist prayed in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” We should desire to stay pure for not only ourselves or our future husbands but also for the Lord. Purity is so important to Him. So it should also be so important to us.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
