There is something about the power of prayer. We are given the ability to speak with authority over the enemy in our Savior’s name.
And there is something so beautiful about praying over your home.
You are the gatekeeper of your home (or room/space) and you have the authority over what you allow into your walls.
And let me just say, the enemy is after your family. He wants to divide and send fear to anyone he can.
But we are granted the ability to pray with authority in our Lord’s name. He is stronger than the enemy and everything that you are facing.
So if you’ve never thought about praying over your home, this is your invitation to try it today.
And if you don’t know where to start or what to say, start with God’s Word. Pray His promises back to Him. Below are some to get you started:
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
Proverbs 3:24
When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
2 Chronicles 7:15-16
Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.
Psalm 121:8
The Lord will keep you from evil; He will keep you safe. He will protect you as you come and go, now and forever.
Joshua 24:15
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
Deuteronomy 28:6
You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
Deuteronomy 6:5-9
And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Proverbs 24:3-4
By wisdom, a house is built and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
There’s no right or wrong way to pray over your home.
But it’s so important that you do it for yourself and for your family. Talk to the Father, make your request known to Him, and speak with authority over any evil that may try to enter your walls. Because we have power through our Savior’s name.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
