The concept of biblical womanhood is something that is forgotten in our culture today. Instead of embracing their femininity, women tend to push it aside.
Biblical womanhood is viewed as old-fashioned and not necessay for women today. If a woman embraces it, she is seen as weak.
But all of that is a lie.
God designed women for a purpose and with their own special abilities. The lies that this world tells about femininity is not true.
Embracing your femininity does not make you less of a woman. It makes you the woman God intended you to be.
There are so many lies out there about a woman’s femininity. But I want to touch on just three:
Number 1: Embracing your femininity will make you less than a man.
Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
Both men and women were created in the image of God. Yes, women may be physically weaker than men. But in God’s eyes, both men and women are equal.
Embracing your God-given femininity does not make you less than a man. You were designed as a woman. And embracing your femininity is what God has called you to do.
Number 2: Embracing your femininity will make you weak.
The thought of embracing biblical womanhood usually comes with the idea of being weak. This world thinks that if you grasp onto your femininity you will become a wimp. But this is not true.
Practicing biblical womanhood does not make you think less, be weak, or forfeit wisdom. It is the exact opposite.
When you embrace your biblical femininity, you become strong in the Lord. Which in turn, makes you strong not weak.
Number 3: Embracing your femininity is old-fashioned.
Biblical womanhood is mistakenly thought of as old-fashioned. But getting married, staying home, and being a mom is not what practicing biblical womanhood is about.
God may not call you to get married and be a stay at home mom. You may be the boss of a large corporation. If that is what God has called you to do, that’s great. But that does not mean that you have to throw away your femininity. You can still embrace it in whatever career God has called you to.
The same is true for dressing modesty.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, “Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.”
Dressing in a way that is pleasing to the Lord doesn’t mean that you must wear ankle-length dresses every day. You can embrace you biblical femininity without dressing old-fashioned.
Don’t let the world’s lies sneak into your thinking of what your femininity is truly about.
God made you special. Women have an amazing purpose. We are given special abilities apart from men. Embracing your femininity will not make you less than who you were called to be. It will make you all that God designed you to be.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
