For Such a Time as This (Part 2)

The story of Esther is a beautiful one. And in the last post we looked at her courage to do what was right and change the outcome for her people.

In this post we will look at how God’s people, because of Esther’s courage, reacts to this new decree.

Haman was such a prideful man and hated the Jews, Esther’s people. So he made the decree to have them all killed.

But after Esther courageously told the king of this plot, they made another decree saying that the Jews could defend themselves.

When God’s people heard this, you can bet they were happy and relieved. But what they did truly shocked me.

They worshiped and praised the Lord.

Yes, the Lord made an avenue so they could defend themselves. But they hadn’t even had a victory yet. They didn’t know what their outcome would be. But they chose to praise the Lord anyhow.

What if we did that? Praised the Lord before we even knew our outcome?

What if we had so much faith in the Lord that we didn’t need to know? We already know that He is strong and protecting us. And we praise Him for that, not the outcome of our battles.

Sometimes He will answer “no” or let the enemy win for some reason. But we can still worship and praise Him because we know that He is good and worthy. And we already know the final outcome.

God gave His people the victory in the story of Esther. And they praise Him again because He did.

But their faith truly shows because they worshipped and praised the Lord before they had even won.

Do you have faith like these people? Just like each of those Jews where placed there and were alive at that time for a reason, so are you.

God placed you in the perfect place and for the perfect reason. So praise and worship Him before you win your battles. Use the times in between to thank Him for who He is and for making a way.

In His amazing love,

Hannah Marie
