Prayer is so powerful. It is such an amazing gift that our Heavenly Father has given to us and that He wants us to use to communicate with Him.
But there is so much more to prayer than just communicating with God. Prayer holds power. It has the ability to change outcomes and transform lives.
And as a daughter of God I believe it is your responsibility to learn to become a woman of prayer.
If you’re like me you probably were never taught to prayer besides praying kind of on the shallow end. You were never taught to go deeper and pray with authority.
If that’s the case you may even doubt that your prayers are good enough or are being heard from God. You may have a hard time believing that God will answer your prayers.
Or may not even know where to start to become a strong woman of prayer.
I am definitely still learning and don’t feel like I’m where I would like to be in my prayer life. But I have learned so much in the past year and I want to share a few tips with you.
These things helped me grow in my prayer life, helped me to stay focused, and allowed me to find time to pray when my days are full.
Don’t be afraid to just talk to God.
You don’t have to be fancy with your wording. Just talk to Him like a friend.
Pray scripture.
If you don’t know what to say or where to start with your prayer life start by praying God’s Word back to Him. The Psalms is a great place to start with this!
Journal your prayers.
Writing out your prayers will help you stay focused. And it’s so great to look back on your prayers and see how God answered them in the future.
Prayer walk your home.
This has been a game changer for me! Take some time to walk around your home praying over your family, rooms, tv, furniture, etc.
Worship while you pray.
Turn on worship music while you are praying and prayer walking. It always helps me to stay focused on the Lord.
Anoint with oil.
I have come to love doing this recently. Whether you anoint your doorposts or your children’s heads using an anointing oil makes your prayer time even more special.
You don’t have to stop to pray.
Many of you are probably buys moms, or just busy girls in general, and it may be hard to find time to set apart to pray. But God will come to you where you are. Make your prayer time while you are washing dishes, folding clothes, or taking a shower. He will hear your prayers wherever and with whatever you’re doing.
There are no right or wrong ways to become a strong woman of prayer.
But there is a difference between praying with a lukewarm spirit and praying with the power of the Holy Spirit. And I hope these small tips help you to be able to do that and grow into a woman of prayer.
InHis amazing love,
Hannah Marie
