How to Find True Rest in Your Busy Season

Right now I am knee deep in dirty diapers, laundry, dishes that need to be washed, and every other never-ending responsibility that comes with motherhood.

I do love this season and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. But sometimes I just want to rest.

A while ago I just wanted to find the answer on how to find true rest in this tiring season of life.

And this is what I came up with—true rest doesn’t come from taking a nap or having “me time.” It comes from allowing my mind and heart to receive the Father’s rest.

Since realizing that I have come to find the most peaceful rest even on the busiest of days. I can go about changing diapers, folding laundry, washing dishes, cooking meals, sweeping floors, and doing every other task with a heart that is filled with peace. I can have my sabbath and still do the things that need to be done without resentment because my rest is found in my Lord.

Here are some simple ways to give your overwhelm, your anxious thoughts, your burnout, and your tired season to the Lord and have a heart that is willing to receive His rest.

Shift your mindset from being overwhelmed to choosing thankfulness.

Know that everything you do is for the Lord. no one else. He sees your work.

Use those tiring, mundane responsibilities as moments to pray.

Have one day of the week where you intentionally rest.

Know that the Lord will grant peace and rest to those who are striving after Him and His ways.

Even in the most tiring season you can find rest in our Heavenly Father’s peace.

He gives rest to the weary and to them that have no might He increases their strength. He will do that for you too as you’re in the season of busyness. He will give you the rest, peace, and strength you need to keep going.

In His amazing love,

Hannah Marie
