A common theme I hear from women recently is how much their family needs breakthrough from the Lord.
Whether that is breakthrough for their husband’s faith, work problems, family issues, generational struggles, financial difficulties, their own faith, and so on I am hearing the need for breakthrough and desire to pray for it.
But so many women just don’t know how to pray for breakthrough for their families.
I wish I could give you a script on what to pray but every situation and family is different. So below I am going to share what I can to encourage you and help you pray boldly for the breakthrough that your family needs.
As always, let’s go to Scripture first.
“You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:17)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
I could keep going with Bible verses that would encourage you during this time of waiting for breakthrough. But do it yourself! Study out what the Lord says in His Word about how He is with you and fighting for you.
Waiting for breakthrough for your family can get discouraging. But remember Who is in control and that His plans are better than ours.
Praying for breakthrough will feel like fighting a battle. It may take way longer for answers than what you hope. But again, don’t get discouraged.
Maybe you just realized that your family needs breakthrough in an area of your life. And if you don’t know where to start with praying for breakthrough start at the beginning.
Go to the Lord with your request. Pray for what you think needs to be done but then leave it in the Lord’s hands.
And if it is a strong spiritual issue God’s angels may be fighting for you without you knowing or seeing results right away. Just read Daniel 10 and Ephesians 6:12 for more understanding of this.
Also I love praying Scripture, especially during these times. Praying God’s Word back to Him is so powerful and helpful when we are lost on what to say.
And lastly, don’t feel like you have to pray exact words. You can just sit in silence with the Lord and cry. The Holy Spirit will interpret your requests for you (Romans 8:26-27.)
Praying for breakthrough for your family is so extremely important.
We are the prayer warriors for our husbands and children. Getting on our knees before God needs to become a daily habit in our lives.
So if you are feeling the need to pray for breakthrough for your home heed that feeling.
