It took me a while to get this post written. Not because I was afraid to share what the Lord taught me through the nine months of carrying our second son. But because I didn’t know how to put all that He taught me and how He grew me during that time into just one post. So I decided to put it into one topic or phrase.
He is faithful.
God is faithful through it all. He was faithful at the beginning of my pregnancy. He was faithful through the trials and difficulties of carrying my baby. And He was faithful through the end.
From the beginning I prayed for a redemptive birth that was opposite from the birth of our first son (listen to that story here.) And through every small complication, from suffering with severe tonsillitis for weeks to being up literally all night with extreme heartburn to not even knowing if we could have a home birth in the last few weeks because my iron levels dropped so low, God continued to show Himself to be so faithful.
I believe it was during the last week of my pregnancy that I started looking back over the last few months and putting pieces together. And I suddenly realized how much God was showing me His faithfulness.
And the morning I got the news that my iron levels had risen to where we needed them to be to give birth in our home, I cried with tears of thankfulness and kept repeating the phrase “You are faithful.”
I repeated that phrase throughout my labor in between contractions. That wasn’t in my plan but it was the perfect reminder for me as we were reaching the end.
He is faithful.
He granted us our redemptive birth and had His hand in every moment. He answered every little prayer and made Himself known through it all. And I can look back and see how faithful He was and continues to be.
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.” (Duet. 7:9)
No matter what you are going through or how many times you have asked Him to grant a request, He is still faithful. He will make Himself known in the end.
In His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
