It took me a while to get this post written. Not because I was afraid to share what the Lord taught me through the nine months of carrying our second son. But because I didn’t know how to put all that He taught me and how He grew me during that time into just one post. So I decided to put it into one topic or phrase. He is faithful. A little over a year ago I went on a mission to start living a more simple life. I was tired of the clutter and excess things that we somehow accumulated. And with a little baby on the way, I knew my life was soon going to be too busy to mess with extra stuff. So I started implementing some things that helped me develop a more simple lifestyle. If you are a busy mom, it can be so hard to find encouragement as you are doing all the mundane responsibilities throughout the day. As soon as you get one thing completed, there are ten more responsibilities calling your attention. I get it. I’m right there with you. There are days that I go without picking up my Bible. All of that is so good to know and I’m definitely not telling you to not do your research in those areas! But what I believe is more important than knowing about the physical side to birth is knowing…

Taking the time to rest during your week is so important. The Bible speaks on this in so many places and it is so important to God. He established a special day of rest to remind us just how important it is to Him. But if you’re like me, applying yourself to actually rest can be difficult. My mind is constantly going, there are things that I see that need cleaning, and so many responsibilities are just never done. So how can I find time to rest? The concept of rest is such a mental thing. If you don’t set…

When I first got married I knew that I wanted to set a solid foundation for our weekends. That is when my husband was home from work, we would often entertain guests, and it was a time of rest for us. And I wanted our weekends to be as organized and stress free as possible. Every Friday is my prep day and the day that I reset my home and heart so that my family and I can have a nice, peaceful weekend and Shabbat. Here are the things that I like to do each Friday to reset my home…
