If you are in the toddler stage of motherhood, this topic may feel impossible. Self-control does not come naturally to kids. You know…They want what the want and they want it now. And if they don’t get it they may start with the tears. Some kids go straight to the screaming and tantrums. It’s all that their little minds understand. But praise the Lord that He has placed us here to teach them. Self-control is so important to teach your kids. The earlier the better. And I promise, no matter how you may feel currently, it is not impossible. Before…

At the end of last year we walked through a miscarriage. I was almost six weeks pregnant when we lost our child. It was extremely difficult but at the same time there was so much comfort in that season which I can only account to the Lord. Then quickly after we unexpectedly got pregnant again. This was such a blessing because I know so many couples struggle with infertility and loss after loss. But even though I was praising the Lord this pregnancy came with some fears. That is when my faith had to step in with carrying this baby…

In my last post I mentioned how disciplining your kids with God’s Word can make your mothering so much easier. And apparently that peaked so many mothers’ interests. I have had so many questions since then about how I do this and if I can share examples. So that’s what this post is going to be. God gives us His Word “for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (1 Tim. 3:16b-17) And I believe that includes training, correcting, and disciplining our kids. A common theme I hear from women recently is how much their family needs breakthrough from the Lord. Whether that is breakthrough for their husband’s faith, work problems, family issues, generational struggles, financial difficulties, their own faith, and so on I am hearing the need for breakthrough and desire to pray for it. But so many women just don’t know how to pray for breakthrough for their families. I wish I could give you a script on what to pray but every situation and family is different. So below I am going to share what I can to encourage you…

There have been times when I just didn’t know what to pray. Some times things were just so rough around me and life seemed to keep throwing arrows my way. Other times I just don’t know what to pray. It’s not that I’m confused or struggling. I just don’t have words. This is often when my faith life and relationship with the Lord seems to be in a dry season. Honestly these times can be very hard places to be. I, at least, end up feeling guilty. Deep down I try hard but I feel like I am failing as…

At the beginning of last year, I decided to go on a music fast for the whole month of January. “What is a music fast?” you may be wondering. Well, for me, I decided to only listen to Christian/worship music for one month. I chose to turn on music that was uplifting to the Lord instead of any other kind of music. Is all music bad? No. There are some great songs out there that does not speak of the Lord. But for the month of January I intentionally chose to play Christian music instead of anything else. So why…

Reading has always been a passion of mine since I was little. And still today, reading is one of my favorite things to do. There is so much to gain by reading. Many books hold great truth and wisdom. You can learn so many new things just by reading a couple of pages. Christian books are my favorite books to read because they help to grow my faith. Whether it’s a biography or a type of information book, faith-filled books are great to add to your daily life. They tell you of other believers’ journeys and help you dig deeper…
