As of the time I’m writing this post I am 33 weeks pregnant with our second. For me it has been important to keep my pregnancy as natural as possible and do things that will support my body through this time.
I did a lot of research during my first pregnancy and incorporated many things through both that have helped me tremendously.
And, from many requests, I have finally put together a list of pregnancy must haves for the natural mamas.
So whether this is your first pregnancy or you’ve already had multiple children, I hope you can gain some information from this post. Here we go!
Supplements—
Beef liver is the new popular thing right now but it is truly great for you to take during pregnancy. For over half of this pregnancy this is what I took instead of a prenatal. This is the one I use.
Taking probiotics is so important to your health during pregnancy, especially because your Ph balance may be more off during pregnancy. This one has done the best for me.
Ningxia Red is a powerhouse drink made from wolfberry purée, the highest form of antioxidants, that is great for you during pregnancy. It balances blood sugar, supports a healthy placenta, boosts milk supply, balances hormones, and boosts your immune system just to name a few. Check it out here (it’s worth it!)
Magnesium is another important supplement to add to your routine during pregnancy. There are so many ways you can get magnesium (capsules, powder, oil, sprays, Epsom salts, etc.) But this is the one that I have incorporated for both of my pregnancies.
Oils—
There are so many great essential oils that are great for supporting you during pregnancy and as you prepare for labor. Here are just a few of my favorites:
Peppermint is great for heartburn, muscle tension, nausea, and more.
Surrender blend is one that I’m planning to use as my birth blend and it’s great for grounding purposes.
Stress Away blend is amazing for reducing tension, relaxing you, and helping you prepare for birth.
Frankincense is a great one to use for your skin and to help you stay grounded.
And lavender is great for so many things during your pregnancy. From sleep support to relaxation to immune support, this one is a must for me.
Teas + other resources—
There are some herbal teas that are great for you during your pregnancy. Red raspberry leaf tea is THE pregnancy tea and will help you with so much. And I like drinking nettle and alfalfa teas as well during my pregnancy to help support my body postpartum.
I would also suggest that any first time mamas grab the Mama Natural Week By Week Guide to Pregnancy. It was such a helpful resource to me especially during my first pregnancy.
And then below are some positive birth vlogs and other pregnancy information that have been a huge help to me:
I am by no means a health care professional or an expert in this area. But these are just some of the things that I have found helpful through my two pregnancies. So take it as you may.
But I do pray that you find some help and encouragement from this post.
I’m His amazing love,
Hannah Marie
