When You Don’t Feel in Control of Your Life

There is such a security in knowing what will happen in your life. To be in control of your everyday. Give yourself the opportunities you want. And be surrounded by the certain people you want.

But if you are anything like me, you have realized that this is a complete impossibility.

Some people may say that fate directs your life. Or karma leads your way. And other people don’t even think that much into who is controlling their lives.

But as believers we can know that there is a God that controls all.

In times of uncertainty and confusion, it can be difficult to remember that the Lord is in control of all and that He is still good despite the outcome.

It can be very easy to become angry with God during times like these. You may want to take the control of your life away from God, thinking that you could do better.

When you don’t feel in control of your life, remember that you are not in control of your life.

There is Someone who loves you so much that He has good things planned for you. Just because you go through difficult times doesn’t mean He loves you any less. He is using the good and the bad to direct you. And when you look back on your life, you will be thankful that the Lord took you through those difficult times.

Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

There have been many times in my life when I didn’t feel in control. But when I tried to grab hold of the reins and direct my life the way I thought it needed to go, everything usually got so much worse.

But when I let God take the reins, the ride became a lot smoother.

Did I never have difficulties or confusion? No, definitely not! During these times I was so confused. I had such a hard time reminding myself that God was in control and that I needed to trust Him. But when I look back at these times, I can see how everything worked out for the better.

When I thought my life was falling apart, God was actually rearranging the pieces to make it so much better.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)

Remember this verse when you don’t feel in control of your life. The times of difficulty are only there to grow you and make you rely more on the Lord. Don’t grow weary from the confusion. Stay strong and know that the Lord is in complete control.

In His amazing love,
